MINNEAPOLIS – Jerome Hamilton, CEO of Open Therapeutics, has been elected to the Financial Times prestigious annual EMPower list of the Top 100 Ethnic Minority Leaders, ranking #31. The EMpower role model lists reflect the achievements of BAME (black, Asian, minority and ethnic) business leaders in the UK, Ireland, the US and Canada. Individuals are nominated by peers and colleagues.
For most of his professional career, Hamilton has mentored people in the workplace, including BAME staff. As Senior Vice President of Global Operations for Stratasys, he developed critical team building exercise, engaging his team to make the workplace more welcoming and inclusive for BAME staff.
Prior to joining Stratasys, Hamilton had been Vice President of Six Sigma Operations, Corporate Quality and Acquisition Integration for 3M, where he played a major role in devising strategy and operational plans for the company’s largest business group, Industrial Business Group. He also led the company’s Masking and Surface Protection Business with full P&L responsibility. Hamilton is a well-rounded executive with a broad range of experiences, including backend operations and customer facing leadership positions.
In 2016, he was invited by the founder of Open Therapeutics LLC to join the company, where he leads a team of 40% ethnic minority and 40% women. In 2014, he was recognized in the Savoy Top 100 Most Influential Blacks in Corporate America and in 2016, in The Global Diversity List that named him one of the top 50 Diversity Professionals in Industry. Externally, Jerome has supported a variety of organizations dedicated to helping young people and BAME individuals. For the past 10 years he has served on the Board of Directors of Real Life 101, a non-profit that provides college scholarships and equipment for selected inner city African American males graduating from high school. He is Vice Chairman of the Board for Good Will Easter Seals of Minnesota.
